Scout III captures sharp thermal imaging at a fast framerate for smooth, impeccable vision on running targets and from moving vehicles. Designed to increase situational awareness at any time of day, Scout III can detect humans, animals, and objects in complete darkness, haze, or through glaring light. A rugged IP-67 rated housing stands up to harsh weather and drops, equipping law enforcement professionals, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts with reliable thermal imaging in tough conditions.
FLIR's Scout III 640 Thermal Monocular is a handheld thermal imaging device designed primarily for outdoor enthusiasts, but can be useful for anyone. It allows you to view thermal signatures through fog, smoke, and foliage during the day or at night. You can also relay NTSC composite video (30 Hz refresh rate) to external displays or recording devices. At the core of this device are a 640 x 512 VOx uncooled microbolometer thermal sensor and a 35mm fixed focal length lens with an 18 x 14° field of view. The on-board electronics and a 640 x 480 color LCD display will show you a 2x-4x digital zoom and several palettes and viewing enhancements like the FLIR Proprietary Digital Detail Enhancement. To enhance your experience, the monocular offers an easy-to-use but effective control pad on its top and in-view menu functions.
This imaging system is packaged into a waterproof and impact-resistant housing. The body is compact and ergonomic and has a rubberized covering for protection again damage. The wide rubber eyecup offers comfort and prevents accidental exposure by reducing leakage of display light. Another small but handy enhancement is a built-in task light for illuminating your path or performing other activities in the dark.
